“What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from.”—T.S. Eliot
Life is a journey of exploration—a never-ending examination of your world and of yourself. The goal of this journey is not so much to reach the final destination or even to find all of the answers to life’s questions but rather, to arrive where you started with a new perspective.
To arrive at a starting point with new understanding helps you to see the circular nature of life. The end of one thing allows for the beginning of another. Without the end of winter, there would be no spring. Plants harvested at the end of their growing cycle provide food…and new life is born from the seeds.
There are of course culminations that happen in life that are more complex, such as a death or divorce. Even something as painful as the death of a parent or a loved one can help you see yourself in a new light. Even as you struggle to come to terms with changes, you are preparing to begin the next phase of your life. This is the ebb and flow of life, though at times it may not be easy to accept or live with.
As every stage of life has its own transitions, so everything that is begun eventually ends. How can you look at your life today from a new point of view, even if only for a moment? What new beginning is waiting for you, just around the corner ? What new adventures are in store for you?
