The One Thing That Makes Us Human

The One Thing That Makes Us Human

The One Thing That Makes Us Human — Kaylaa T. Blackwell

The One Thing That Makes Us Human — Kaylaa T. Blackwell

Caught up and blinded
By ego
Our own narcissism
We often forget
Natural ecosystems
Losing the capacity to care
To show empathy
The one thing
That makes us human

Fast-forwarding
Our pulse
Circumventing feeling
Our kaleidoscope heart
No longer be bops
For love
If at all
The one thing
That makes us alive

Ambushed
By our fabricated lies
We exalt sabotage
Enslave our thinking
Losing our minds
The one thing
That makes us reason

Head-locked
In primetime
Of farfetched grandiosity
Wheeling and dealing
Promises never kept
We can no longer
Birth authenticity
Cradle civility
The one thing
That makes us less brutish

Incapacitated by what was
Lost the ability
To bear
The responsibility of what is
In the here and now
Unable to negotiate with the future
The one thing
That makes us visionaries

The one thing
That makes us human
Stake claim to the living
The vernaculars of humane
Is the one thing
That encapsulates
And brings purpose
To everything
And costs us nothing
Why not start the symphony there?

As always, you have captured my reasoning, dreaming of a better day, when we all say, I need you unconditionally, my vision, my dream…Lov ya!

Thank you Robert 🙂 Glad it resonated with you. Hope you are enjoying your week so far, despite the weather. If you are looking for musical motivation you may consider heading over to The Sky Lounge, that I recently opened here: where music & inspirational musings come alive http://wp.me/p6cZVB-jX . I would appreciate if you could check it out, as time allows and let me know what you think. For I would love to have you as a patron :). Cheers.
